Q
How long do you run for?

A

All runs last for approximately 1hr 20mins .
Q
Do you cater for all standards of fitness?

A

Yes. On Tuesdays & Thursdays there are usually 3 groups, each with a different running pace. Sunday runs at 9.30 consist of one group at a gentle pace. Unfortunately we do not have a complete beginners group so it would be advisable to do a few runs before trying us out.
There will be also a speed session on Thursdays at Millhouses run by Jan Hutton for those interested.
Q
What if I can't manage the full 1hr 20mins

A

No problem. The group can divert to drop you off a little earlier and then carry on. You need to let someone know this beforehand so the route can be planned.
Q
Will I get left behind?

A

No, members will always stop and run back at frequent intervals.
Q
What type of terrain do you run on?

A

During the Winter we run on the road and then mainly on the Hills during the Summer, taking in the fantastic views. Sunday morning runs are always off road in the Peaks.

There is also usually a speed/hill session on a Tuesday from Norton College.

Q
Do I have to join straight away, and how much does it cost?

A

You can run with Totley AC whenever you want and do not have to officially join, however everyone is encouraged to do so to gain all the benefits that the membership offers. The cost is £10.00 per year and family membership is £15.00.. The membership offers a quarterly club magazine, discount at keep on running, subsidised social events etc. Please download a membership form from here if you are interested.
Q
Are there shower facilities available?
A

Club nights: There are showers available in the club hut. (this may change due to maintenance being carried out on the hut)

Q
Do I have to wear any special clothing?
A
Bring a dry top to change in to after the run and it is also a good idea to carry a windproof top in case it turns cold or you get injured.
Q
