Race Day

NEW ROUTE for 2024

We’ll be starting the race promptly at 19:00.
There will be toilets and the bar will be open at the Norfolk Arms
This event has online entry & entry on the night. Numbers will be collected upon arrival, no earlier than 18:00 and by 18:40 at the latest in the marque at the Pub
The route will be marshaled at all the major turning points

If you require assistance at any time, please contact Race Control on one of the following numbers:
07894 786470 (Scott Blanks)

The kit runners are required to carry is at the discretion of the Race Organiser, depending on the weather conditions, so please come with the kit but a decision will be made on the day.
All runners should bring FRA Best Practice kit with them in case the weather is bad.
A decision will be made on the evening.
FRA Best Practice Kit  (Waterproof whole body cover (taped seams and attached hood) + hat + gloves + map + compass + whistle + emergency food).
All runners must carry the kit required by the Race Organiser. Mandatory kit inspections may be performed on race day.  You will not be admitted to start the race unless you have passed this inspection.  A further check may be undertaken on completion of the race – anyone completing the race without the required kit will be disqualified and reported to the FRA.
Your race number must not be folded or cut down. At the start, all checkpoints and the finish, it must be clearly visible on your chest.
Numbers may be recorded at some checkpoints as well as at the finish; failure to show your number at checkpoints will lead to disqualification.
Entrants may not take dogs on the course

Runners are not required to record their arrival at checkpoints in any way. The only requirement is that competitors must run past the marshals (without taking short cuts) with their race numbers clearly visible.

Retirement procedure
Runners wishing to retire from the race MUST inform Race Control and not just a marshal. They should either:

  • Report to a checkpoint and then return directly to the finish to report to race control
  • Report directly to race control (Lady Canning’s Car park, Sheep Hill Road), when retiring between checkpoints or
  • Telephone Race Control (see numbers listed above)
