54 of Totlies’ best descended on the picturesque paths of the Monsal trail to celebrate Sharon O’Leary’s 200th parkrun, no doubt boosted by the opportunity to sample her post run delectable coconut and blueberry bakes (congratulations Sharon and thank you).
Additionally, by complete coincidence I’m sure, it was the 4th event of the Totley parkrun challenge 2024.
As always, there were some truly inspiring performances, with the age grade rankings being dominated by Totley, 7 of the top 10 proudly sporting the appealing green and white (Yvonne Twelvetree, Jane Harriman, Pat Goodall and Anne Hegarty taking the 4 top spots and Maggie Gorman, Mick Crookes and Rory Wall completing the club’s dominance of the standings).

Notable pairings this month saw Martin Robbins continue his fine form of running personal bests, only to be pipped on age grade, this time it was Min Wang, also running a personal best, that edged Martin out by just over 1%, amazing running by both.
Not quite as close was the pairing of Heggs and Wall Junior, with the latter showing how it is done with a personal best run and a humiliating age grade percentage victory of almost 14% (I’ll get you next time Rory!)
12 Totlies achieved personal bests for the course, great work all. But as always, a big thank you to all of those who took part and showed, yet again, that the Totley running community is a sociable and friendly place to perform a bit of jogging.
For the next event on the 6th of July, we test our post Round Sheffield Run legs on ‘heartbreak hill’ as we congregate at Sheffield Castle for the mid – season gathering, before a 2-month summer hiatus. I hope to see you there.
