Totley Lights Run Raises £1157 For St Luke’s Hospice

It’s become a Christmas tradition for Totley AC to do Christmas Lights Run on the Tuesday before Christmas. The running club use this as an opportunity to raise funds for the fantastic St Luke’s Hospice. A wonderful Sheffield institution that has supported so many of us when friends and family have needed their compassionate and kind care.

This year over 50 Totley AC runners met at the Hammer and Pincers pub, one group ran 9 miles and a slower more chatty group covered 7 miles. The routes ran to the beautiful lights display at St Luke’s where we said a thank you to the wonderful staff who provide brilliant care and treatment. The runners then went in search of the best festive light displays in Totley.

The runners sported Christmas ‘fashions’, fairy lights and tinsel along with our usual muddy trainers.

Afterwards we had a celebratory tipple in the pub with runners donating over £500, the club matched these donations. Staves Estate Agents made a generous contribution of £100. Overall we’ve raised £1187 for St Luke’s and contributions are still coming in.
